Engagement Photos Should be Fun!

I absolutely love photographing weddings! The hustle & bustle of the day, the gorgeous decor, the emotions….all of it is just exhilarating! But, engagement sessions also hold a truly special place in my heart! I love that we are on no particular timeline for your engagement photos, there’s no one waiting for us to finish & get to the next thing, and its just the two of you! Engagement sessions are a wonderful way to get comfortable in front of my camera before your big day & for us to get to know each other better.

Kari & Colin decided to take their engagement photos at Melton Hill Park near Hardin Valley in Knoxville. This is one of my absolute favorite photo spots! There’s such a variety of foliage…trees, tall grass, water, even a little “beach” area with sand. And the light is always gorgeous at sunset! We had a great time exploring & they were even brave enough to get in the water for some truly epic, romantic shots!

And Engagement Photos Should Also Be Personal!

Prior to meeting at Melton Hill Park, Kari & Colin had me meet them at their house to get some photos at home with their sweet pups! I loved this idea because not only were they able to include their dogs, but they were able to have photos at their own space with a fire pit Colin had just built. I am a big believer that your engagement photos should be personal to you! Let’s include your pets, a fun outfit, a hobby you enjoy doing together, or a location that is special to you! We had such a great time building a fire, making drinks, and playing with the dogs. And the pictures turned out so beautifully.

All of my wedding packages include a complimentary engagement session & that’s because days like this are just so much fun! I left Kari & Colin’s engagement session with two new friends which makes me even more pumped for their wedding day next month! I think every couple should have engagement photos taken….make it a fun date night & enjoy capturing the special season between your engagement & your wedding day!
