Abbey & Joe got married at the beautiful Holston Springs venue last August. My husband & I work at Holston Springs quite frequently. It is a lovely venue with private accommodations located above the reception hall, tons of grassy hills to roam for photos, and a great indoor reception area for parties. When we walked inside, I knew this was going to be one of my favorite weddings I have photographed at this venue. The color palette that Abbey chose was a variety of pinks & oranges-perfect for summer! And she chose one of my very favorite local florists-Rainbow Roots. The tables were elegantly set up by the wonderful Chandler Sparks-she is the venue manager at Holston Springs & also runs her rental business called First Sparks Weddings. Here’s a look at some of my favorite decor & detail shots.

Abbey got ready in the apartment upstairs with her bridesmaids & mom. Joe & his guys joined a bit later. We were all watching the weather forecast all day, and it didn’t look good. The forecast was calling for rain that wasn’t going to stop. But it held off just in time for a quick outdoor ceremony, family photos, and some bridal party photos as well. Right as we were headed into couple’s portraits, it started coming down hard! Abbey & Joe agreed to take a few photos inside & to go ahead and start their reception & hope that the rain would stop before sunset. They were ready to party with their people, eat some food, and share toasts.

After the cake was cut, the rain stopped. We took a run for it, hoping that we could squeeze in some great photos before it started up again. Chandler, the venue director, drove us up to their sister property (The Stables at Strawberry Creek) and as we arrived, we saw it. A beautiful rainbow in the sky! We snapped some dreamy photos, and I was just smitten. My first wedding day rainbow and it was so beautiful.
Abbey & Joe were the sweetest, most patient, trusting couple I could have asked for on their wedding day. They never went into panic mode, and they were patient enough to wait for the best time for their photos. And I’d say it paid off! The photos speak for themselves!
